Of Light and Darkness

Of Light and Darkness Book 1

How many of us were upset from the Twilight Saga series? I sure was and had lost my complete interest of vampires, until I had found a book that was a huge talk on facebook.com. The book was written by 22-year-old Shayne Leighton and many people were saying how well this book was compared to Twilight.

At first I was hesitant to read the book but decided to give the vampire world one more shot. Thank heaven I did because I cannot stop reading this book! The back ground is about a mortal girl named Charlotte Ruzikova who was abandoned as a baby, was being raised by Valek Ruzikova the last vampire of his own kind. During Charlotte's life she has become so used to being the only human around all her mythological friends but had to be very careful as well, because having humans know that all the mythological creatures were real was against the law. And Valek was breaking the biggest law of them all!

In the deepest parts of the Eastern European woods, there is a very powerful creature that is from Valek's past seeks to destroy everything and everyone that Charlotte has loved and cared for in her life. Charlotte now must over come this threat to save the only one she truly ever loved in her life and those she has ever cared for all before the sun rises.

After reading this book, I was very pleased to know that Mrs. Leighton has truly redeemed my world of vampires and now I cannot stop reading her book over and over and over again. My review for this book is a 5 of 5 and I cannot wait to see what Mrs. Leighton has in store for the rest of her series.

  1. Have you read Entwined by Heather Dixon? It's one of my favorites. It's based on the fairy tale of the twelve dancing princesses.
